Bourjois Delice de Poudre Bronzer

Hey there lovelies!

I know I'm late on the chocolate flavoured bandwagon but I only tend to buy bronzers when I run out of my other one so please don't hate me! On to the review!!

I find the packaging to be a little tacky and not very sturdy at all. However I do love the little chocolate square embossing on the product, super cute!!

The smell is a very sweet chocolatey smell but not so overpowering I'm put off or feel like there's any heavy perfume that would harm my skin.

The product itself isn't all that impressive, I'm not getting the hype (sorry!). It is lovely and soft and blends well but there's just no pigmentation and really not any staying power for me. I bought it in the shade Medium so maybe I just needed a darker shade but I have to really swirl my brush around to pick up a decent amount of product. I'd say it gives a nice healthy glow to the face but it is definitely not strong enough for me to contour, paler people would find this perfect due to the matt brown shade. It's an okay product and I will continue to use it but it won't become my go-to bronzer. So gutted because I love Bourjois so much!

You can try it for yourself at Superdrug for £7.99

Sleek Face Form Kit Review

Hello my little muffins!

I have a very round face. And a big head. Problematic. I struggle to find contour bronzers to suit me because they're either really orange or muddy. I have lusted over Sleeks contour kit for aaages and finally decided to take the plunge.

What I didn't realise was that they do a Face Form Kit which includes their infamous Rose Gold blush (in the fair/light kits) and it works out cheaper to buy this than the contour kit and blush separately. Woo student logic!!

The packaging is usual Sleek: simple, sturdy and chic. It does tend to get a little dirty but I can forgive that for how sturdy and well-sized they are. You get a good sized mirror in there too so it is pretty much handbag perfect.

The kit includes a bronzer, highlight and blush. All 3 are so super soft and pigmented it is crazzzy. Their colour choices are really great too, the bronzer is a subtle matte brown which blends nicely so you don't get a weird stripey effect and actually looks good on my skin. The highlight is my least favourite of the 3; it is a little bit too subtle but if you layer it you start to just look sparkly. I like it but I do prefer my MUA highlight. The blush is so beautiful though, you need an incredibly light hand to apply the gold-flecked peachy pink colour and it just gives a healthy glow to the cheeks.

This lasts all day easy and is amazing value for money. You can get it here for a steal at £9.99!

The Difference Our Slap Makes

Now I have no clue where I stumbled on a picture of someone baring a half naked face (if anyone can enlighten me please let me know!!) but I was so shocked at the difference our make up makes I wanted to see for myself.

When I'm doing my make up, I'm concentrating so much on what I want it to end up like that I don't actually pay attention to what I look like 'before and after' so to speak.

So today...just for you guys...I am going face naked on the Internet. Well half anyway. So you can see how weird the contrast is. I used my usual, everyday neutral make up.

This has also made me see which products I like more than others haha! Plus I really need my eyebrows plucking, the sun just makes them grow like cavemens brows. Also, the sun has made my foundation a touch too light, something I haven't seen as much until this photo.

So after that ordeal, I challenge ALL OF YOU to do the same! Link your posts down below! It really is shocking how much we change ourselves just in the space of 10/15 minutes every morning. (Mainly my black circles and non-descript face shape.)

Along Came Betty Review

I have made a rather exciting discovery in Tesco blog lovelies! Popping in for a few bits and pieces just happened to take me down the cosmetics aisle, and this section full of pink just caught my girly-magpie eye.

Everything was on offer at the time and, despite how little stock there was left, I picked up a few different pieces to try out. That being said, the products are insanely cheap as they are, most coming at around £5 and I didn't see anything for more than £10 in the stand.

(On Offer)
Clean Around The Clock Creamy Shower Wash - £3.99
The Prime Of Your Life Illuminating Primer - £4.99
Wow Lashes Mascara - £3.99

The packaging is very Soap & Glory; pretty and vintage inspired but still sturdy and practical. I think that's why I was drawn to it...who doesn't love a cheaper version of a great brand! Plus it is far too cute to resist.

Firstly the Clean Around The Clock shower wash smells divine. It's sweet but really fresh at the same time and makes my skin lovely and soft. I like something that can leave a subtle fragrance on my skin, particularly something uplifting.

The Prime Of Your Life illuminating primer is a new type of product for me. I've never used a face primer before, only eye ones, but considering I have very large pores I think I should probably jump on the bandwagon!

This is very silky, pink-toned primer with a slight gold shimmer to it, I found it instantly evened out my complexion and gave me a nice healthy glow. I have used this under foundation to just make me look a bit more 'awake' but I think it would look lovely by itself with just a little setting powder over the top for days when you want to keep make up down to a minimum.

The prize out of these 3 has to be the Wow Lashes mascara. They have 2 mascaras on offer, one focusing on length and this focusing on volume. In my opinion mascara should do both but I think it may also be a wand shape preference. I like a nice chunky thick wand so I went for this (the pictures of the wands are on the sides of the packaging). I like the fact although the wand is chunky to really add volume, it's quite short so you have a lot more control over where you are putting the product.

Left eye with mascara, right eye bare
I don't think this is a life-changing product but for how little I paid for it, this is a great product! It does lengthen and define my lashes whilst adding good volume. It doesn't smudge and lasts well throughout the day. Wonderful!

I will be back Tesco!!

My Favourite Palette | MUA Glamour Days

Now I know this palette may not be up everyones alley, to be honest I'm not really a palette collector. I own maybe 3? Considering I rarely leave the house without at least a sweep of colour on my lids, I think this is pretty bad.

I picked this palette up a few months ago and use it most days, it has a nice mixture of neutrals and brighter colours which I like to mix in when I'm going out. My favourite is the lightest shade - a shimmery cream colour. I use it to highlight my brow bones and the inner corners of my eyes. As you can see it's so well loved!

I also love the 3 purple tones, I have really dark brown eyes and purple really makes them pop so I have been using them a lot too.

The packaging is typical MUA; simple, sturdy but slightly cheap feeling but for the price you pay it isn't exactly a major problem.

The pigmentation is amazing on these, I was so surprised! I think I just picked this up on a whim because I liked a couple of the colours but I didn't expect how lovely the quality of these shadows are. They are so silky and blend wonderfully. I love pairing these with cream bases too and I'm currently using MUA's Pro Base eye primer underneath.

They last for around 5 hours without creasing, a couple more hours with a primer. I think this is pretty good for what you pay. I also noticed there isn't a major problem with fallout, something which majorly irritates me about putting on eyeshadow. Although by the end of the day, there is a bit of smudging under my eyes.

I love this palette and am considering picking up a couple more. Has anyone else tried any of MUA's palettes?

My Favourite Eyeliner | Maybelline 24hr Gel Liner

This probably won't come as much of a shock to most of you guys because this eyeliner is a bit of a cult classic. This was the first gel eyeliner I ever used (I finally took the plunge last year) and after using a few different ones, I raced back to this one.

I use an angled Barry M brush with this, the one that comes with the liner is a little flimsy for everyday use but great to throw in your handbag. This liner is great for just doing simple lines, flicks or can be smudged nicely to create a softer/smokier effect.

The consistency is thick enough to have great pigmentation and to last a long time but fluid enough so it's easy to work with. It dries really quick which is a massive bonus as I've found with a couple of gel liners they take a lot longer to dry, meaning you end up with smudges all across your lids. Nightmare!

Once this stuff is on, you're pretty much set for the day (unless you keep rubbing your eyes like a mad woman). This is literally my every day staple, I will not leave the house without it on my face. It is going to take one super duper liner to get me to stop my endless repurchasing!

My Favourite Blusher | Bourjois Cream Blush

This has been a very recent addition to my collection. I have a huge palette from Crown (see the full review here) and I've been loving the blushers in there but they're all pink based and I wanted something a little more peachy. Cue Bourjois Cream to Powder Blush in '02 Healthy Glow'.

I love Bourjois blushers anyway but I fancied a change from the usual powder blush so this little baby came home with me. Straight away I fell in love with it. I have used this every day since I bought it and I will be picking up another (if not all) of the other 3 shades on offer.

The packaging is cute and perfect travel sized, plus I love a mirror in any product although I have no clue why.

The colour is so pretty and just gives me a subtle healthy glow, I think the more peachy tones suit me a lot more than the pinker ones. It looks quite orange when you first apply it but once it's blended in it looks really natural. I use either my fingers or a Real Techniques contour brush (no clue why it just goes in nicer) to blend this onto the apples of my cheeks.

It did take a couple of goes to get used to working with this formula, it goes to powder quite quickly but the creaminess allows it to blend in so much nicer than any other blusher I've used. It also lasts ages! The recent heat has put all my make up to the test but this beauty has passed with flying colours so it will DEFINITELY be coming along with me to France next week.

You can pick this up for £7.99 here.

What is your favourite blush?

My Favourite Foundation | Bourjois Healthy Mix

What better way to start my Week of Beauty Favourites with the first make up product I put on my face of a morning. Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation has been a staple in my make up collection for years, I have tried different ones but nothing compares to this one and I have repurchased it countless times.

Foundation is a really personal thing, everything looks different on everybody and everyone wants something different from their base. Personally, I like a medium coverage that gives me a nice glow without being shimmery or too cakey. I don't suffer with too many blemishes but I do have a lot of redness so I need something to combat this.

Healthy Mix has a subtle fresh smell to it due to the fruit extracts in the formula. It is very light, with a fairly runny consistency. It blends quickly and easily into the skin, I use either my fingers or a Real Techniques buffing brush for a flawless finish. It doesn't block my pores like a lot of foundations do and I credit this as part of the reason why I don't suffer with too many spots or blemishes.

It wears for around 6-8 hours on my skin, depending on how oily my skin is that day but I always use a powder over the top (at least on my T-Zone if not all over) and this definitely helps. It doesn't cling to the dry patches and I always get compliments on how fresh my skin looks whenever I use this.

The colour selection is quite limited, unfortunately, but I use number '52 Vanilla' and this does me pretty much all year round as it mixes nicely with a good bronzing powder.

For £9.99 this is my perfect foundation and it is going to take a lot to make me break this love affair. It is very easy to come by too, you can get it from boots here.

What is your favourite foundation?

Crown 78 Colour Palette

I am officially 20 blog lovelies! It feels so weird saying that, I know this post is a little late as my birthday was actually 5th June but on that day I was sat in a peddlow in Zurich in my stripey bikini. (It's going to be very hard to top that one!) So when I returned home I got to unwrap this little beauty from my gorgeous mummy. She is just as much a beauty addict as me so this was the perfect present to feed my problem.

This is a professional palette, coming to us from Crown (the makers of gorgeous brushes) and has so many colours it makes me want to cry.

Packaging...
The packaging is very typical of a large professional palette: simple, sturdy and sleek with a small mirror. Does the job nicely.

The colours...
This has a range of both matte and shimmer eyeshadows plus a matte bronzer and blushers. There is literally every colour I could ever need, the bronzer is my new favourite contour and I have been experimenting as much as possible with the shadows. However, my one criticism is that I can't find a colour that I like as a brow/inner corner highlight. It has plenty of light colours (including white) but they're all too matte for my taste. I prefer a highlight colour to have a tiny bit of shimmer to it to add a nicer dimension to my face, maybe its just a personal thing.

The eyeshadows (by column)

The blushes

The quality...
The quality of this is amazing, everything is super pigmented and goes on really silky with easy blending. It has great staying power, some colours are becoming my daily staples but I am looking forward to experimenting with this box of gorgeousness!

Has anyone else tried any Crown products?

Naughty Beauty Haul

Yes I know I'm meant to be saving money for Europe but MUA was having 3for2...what could I do?! I only bought three things though...hurray for self control! Err yeh then I went on Feel Unique so 3 items turned into 5.

So what did you buy I hear you cry? Well from MUA I got their Pro-Base eye primer, their gel eyeliner in 'On the Move' and their Undress Your Skin Highlighter.

I must admit, I have always been so impressed with their products and these new ones haven't disappointed. I wanted to try an eye primer as I have never used one but don't see the point in splashing out if I decide I don't like it. This one popped up for £2.50. ADD TO BASKET PLEASE. This feels lovely to put on, I expected quite a sticky feel to it but is was soft and silky. It made my shadow so much more vibrant and, yes, eventually it creased but it lasted almost an entire day before it did so. Normally after a couple of hours I notice creasing so this substantially prolonged this huge pain in the bum I deal with daily.

Their gel eyeliner is a pretty chocolate brown with a slight purple shimmer to it. Purple really brings the brown out in my eyes and I wanted something a little bit softer than my usual black to smudge out for a day-to-day look. This isn't as pigmented as I would have liked and did streak a little at first but once I'd kind of got going with it I loved the effect it gave. However, for the first time ever I was very disappointed with MUA for this product, it came off within an hour or so even with primer and eyeshadow and just smudged into nothing. Sorry MUA!

Lastly, this is my favourite of the 3. A gorgeous pinky subtle highlighter that goes on a dream and gives  me a healthy glow. A product I would highly recommend for those who don't want to spend a huge amount, coming in at £3 it is a total bargain! SO in love!

From Feelunique I bought Sugar Strip Ease as an alternative to wax. I was a bit intruiged as to how this would be and I will do a full review next week when I have fully investigated this interesting product. I also finally jumped on the Real Techniques bandwagon and bought the core collection. Why I didn't do this earlier is beyond me. They are super soft and apply my make up like an absolute dream. I want them all now!! So so lovely and perfectly sized. My firm favourite is the buffing brush, it has become my everything brush.

Hope you liked dear readers!

Revlon Lip Butter Review

Yes dear readers, I gave in to my overwhelming need to buy more lippy and bought one of the lovely Revlon Lip Butters in '015 Tutti Fruitti'.

I am so in love with this product, the packaging is very pretty and great for me to see which colour it is to pick out amongst the rest of my collection. However, it is quite flimsy and plasticy I am a little worried how it's going to fare being carried round in my handbag.

The colour is perfect for Spring and Summer, and I love the colour orange against my skin tone. Although it isn't as pigmented as I first thought, I do really like the sheer coverage it gives as I seem to have got stuck in a matt highly pigmented lipstick rut. The texture is very creamy and glides on a dream and is very moisturising on my lips.

Overall verdict? Big thumbs up! I will be picking up a few more shades!

What's in My Bag?

So I decided to give you lovelies an insight into what junk I carry round my on a daily basis! My handbag is a Primark £12 jobby, really spacious and a bit funky in my opinion. So the basics: purse (Primark like a billion years ago), tissues, phone, keys, pen, nail file. All boring sorry!

I always seem to carry sunglasses for some odd reason, this also means I break so many pairs because my bag gets bashed around constantly. I tend to stick to Primark cheap and cheerful ones to whip out if its a bit sunny (optimism ladies!) and I'm driving. These pretty ones are new and I picked them up for £2, I really liked the floral pattern round the edge and I only really suit large sunglasses.

A backcombing brush, I think £1 from Primark again. These are fab! I'm in need of a haircut at the moment so it is incredibly heavy and flat so I do need to keep touching up even though I know it is insanely bad for your hair!

Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Perfume, I go through perfume like its going out of fashion so I tend to stick to cheapy ones from Next or M&S during the day and keep ones like this for the night. But I'm silly and have ran out so until I buy more I'm being naughty and using my posh perfume during the day. It;s just so lovely and elegant I can't help it.

Now we get to my ridiculous amount of lip products. I have no idea why I carry so much of this around I just accumulate it all!

Carmex cherry flavour is absolutely lovely and smells delish I love it!

Vaseline Cocoa Butter, again, a staple it has to be with me at all times.

Elizabeth Arden 8 hr cream, I got this in my Glossybox and I think its great for dry lips and for sticking on really dry patches of skin.

Jelly Pong Pong Lip Blush, again I got this in my Glossybox and I love it, its such a pretty colour and goes on so nicely.

Barry M Ultra Moisturising Lip Paint in number 160 this is a really deep red/purple, great for nights out.

Topshop Lipstick in 'Whimsical', a matte peach so its perfect for Spring!

Hope you enjoyed this post! What are your handbag essentials?

Spring Catwalk Make Up

I've been wanting to do a post like this for aaages so I'm incredibly excited for this one. I have used the Spring 2013 Catwalk make up as inspiration for a few looks I've played about with. Hope you like!

All foundation - Bourjois Healthy Mix in '52 Vanilla'
All concealer - Sleek Concealer and Correct Palette 02
All powder - Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in '004 Sandstorm'
All eyshadows - MUA 'Glamour Days' Palette
All mascara - Maybelline Volume Express

Lower Lashline:

I love this trend, I mixed the grungy smoky look from Diane Von Furstenburg with the exggerated lashes of Moschino

I used MAC Powder Blush in 'Margin', Eylure's individual lashes and Rimmel black khol pencil eyeliner along with a dark chocolate brown/charcoal colour eyeshadow.

60s:

I am in love with the whole idea of the 60's look and think it can be transformed into the most incredible make up! I used Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton as inspiration.

I used Benefit Posietint on the cheeks, Maybelline Gel Eyeliner (to create 2 graphic flicks), Eyelure 65 Years Celebration lashes in 'London Calling' and Estee Lauder Lipstick in 'Blushing Creme'.

Colour Pop:

I took two different looks for this one, focusing on eyes and lips one at a time. I think this is a really wearable summery look if the rest of the face is kept clean and fresh looking. I used the fuschia lips at Giles and the bright blue eyes from Moschino as inspiration.

For the lips I used Jelly Pong Pong Lip Blush Stain and for the eyes I used a bright turquoise eyeshadow applied with a wet eyeliner brush.

Hope you like them, I had so much fun doing this post! I'd love to see your creative looks!
